How We Review
CarTechWiki publishes buying guides based on research, not hype. This page explains how we put a guide together and what you should and should not expect from it.
Our approach
For each guide we define the criteria that matter for that product type, then compare the products on those criteria using published information. We focus on helping you understand what a product is designed for, what to check for your vehicle and where it may fall short.
What we look at
- Specifications and manufacturer information. Features, size, power, compatibility and included accessories.
- Buyer feedback. Patterns in what buyers report about setup, reliability and everyday use.
- Compatibility and safety. Whether a product suits common vehicles and phones, and what rules or manufacturer instructions apply.
What we do not claim
We do not claim hands-on testing unless an article says so explicitly. We do not publish prices, and we do not guarantee that a product will work in your specific vehicle, so always confirm compatibility before you buy.
Keeping guides current
Products change quickly. We revisit our guides as new products and information appear and correct them when we find a mistake. If you spot an error, tell us through our Contact page.
Independence and funding
CarTechWiki is supported by affiliate links, which may earn us a commission at no extra cost to you. Commissions do not decide which products we feature. See our Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Policy.
