Three Autel tools for jobs a plain scanner does not do: testing a battery and charging system, and clearing a TPMS light. Details are the brand’s own and compatibility matters, so read the notes under each tool.
The short version
- Autel MaxiBAS BT506: Battery and electrical system tester.
- Autel MaxiBAS BT608: Professional battery tester with printer.
- Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF: TPMS programming and relearn tool.
A battery tester checks the battery, starter and alternator before a failure. A TPMS tool relearns or programs tire sensors after a tire change.
Picks from Autel, with the specs it states
Autel MaxiBAS BT506

Battery and electrical system tester
- Tests 6V and 12V batteries from 100 to 2000 CCA, including flooded, AGM and EFB types
- In-vehicle tests cover battery, starter and generator when paired with the VCI V200P; standalone battery tests are also supported
- The brand notes it is not universal and asks buyers to send their VIN to check compatibility before purchase
Who it suits: Owners who want to check a battery and charging system before it strands them.
Autel MaxiBAS BT608

Professional battery tester with printer
- 6V and 12V battery testing from 100 to 3000 CCA, plus 12V and 24V starting and charging system analysis
- Built-in thermal printer and an included MaxiVCI V200 wireless interface
- Supported battery registration and BMS reset on compatible vehicles
Who it suits: Home mechanics with several vehicles and small shops that want printed reports.
Autel MaxiTPMS TS508WF

TPMS programming and relearn tool
- Handles TPMS relearn, sensor programming and activation, plus TPMS-related OBD2 diagnostics
- Reads sensor ID, pressure, temperature, battery and frequency; supports 315 MHz and 433 MHz sensors
- Updates over WiFi without a computer, which the brand calls lifetime updates
Who it suits: People who swap tires or sensors and want to clear a TPMS light themselves.
How to choose
- Battery tester. Match the tester to your battery chemistry and CCA range, and confirm the vehicle is supported.
- TPMS tool. Check that it covers the sensor frequency and the make of your car.
- Safety. Work on a parked car with the engine off unless the step says otherwise, and disconnect nothing you are unsure about.
Before you buy: compatibility and use
Battery and TPMS tools are the most compatibility-sensitive products in a garage. A battery tester must match the battery type and size range you own, and the brand states that the BT506 is not universal, so confirm your vehicle with the seller. A TPMS tool must support the sensor type your car uses, and some cars need a specific relearn procedure after a tire change. Read the owner manual first, then the brand page. If a job involves the high-voltage system of a hybrid or electric car, leave it to a qualified technician.
Keep expectations realistic. A tester tells you the condition of a battery at the time of the test; it does not extend its life. A TPMS tool clears a warning light only when the underlying cause, such as a low tire or a dead sensor, has been fixed.
